We use foil blocking / hot foil stamping to press stunning foil detail onto your cards. Not to be confused with the more affordable digital foiling, this traditional foiling is all done by hand to create a unique finish. It requires specialist printing equipment and a lot of time and patience as they are printed one at a time. We also have hot foil stamped pocketfolds to go with 5x7” invitations. View those here. This is one of the most luxurious effects that can be applied to card. It provides eye-catching elegance and glamour and adds a luxurious, formal feel to any wedding stationery. The imprint leaves a tactile impression that, coupled with the foil, catches the light and draws the eye to it.

Like with letterpress, a custom metal block or die is created and used to imprint text and/or design onto paper or card. Instead of using ink as with letterpress, a thin foil film is positioned between the die and the card. When pressed and heated, a bond is formed, and the foil is pressed onto the card. This provides a beautiful, slightly de-bossed, shiny metallic imprint. Because foil is opaque, it can be printed on dark papers with no show through. The contrasting card texture, imprint, and shiny or matt foiling bring your stationery to life.

INVITATION SET
In order to provide quantity discounts, all additional cards such as RSVP, Gift Message etc are separate listings. This gives you far more flexibility to choose different sizes and card colours. Scroll down to see related products or select them from the main menu.

WHAT DESIGN & TEXT CAN I HAVE?
Each die/block is the full size of the card you order. The entire card is pressed from that one block. It is custom made and therefore unique to your order. You tell us what you’d like to have on the invitation, and we’ll create it. You can even include your own monogram or logo if you like.

MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY
Initial setup costs for traditional block foiling are high as metal dies need to be made and the machine has to be calibrated to each individual design. In order to keep costs down we have a minimum order quantity of 30 for each variation (e.g., Day Invite, Evening Invite, RSVP Card, etc.)! The higher the quantity, the lower the price as initial costs are spread out more!

CHOOSE VARIATION
Each variation must be added to your basket separately as there is one die block made per variation (e.g., Day, Eve, Other).

ADDITIONAL CARDS
In order to give quantity discounts for all cards, you will need to use separate listings for additional cards. For example, if you would like an Invitation and an RSVP card, you’d use an invitation listing for one and an RSVP card listing for the other. This means you have more flexibility over the size, card colour, and quantities too.

SELECT INVITE SIZE
Choose the size you’d like your invite to be from a Mini A6 through 5x7” to A5.

SELECT CARD COLOUR
As well as our smooth range of white and ivory card, we also use beautiful coloured Colorplan card from G.F. Smith. Their stunning range of dyed papers give a vibrant finish but also ensure the back and edges of your card are the same colour. Our range of foils create a beautiful contrast. We have chosen a few of our favourite colours to list here but others are available. Please get in touch if you are looking for something else and we’ll be able to quote you.

FOIL COLOUR
We offer colours such as Gold, Rose Gold, Copper, and Silver metallic foiling as standard but there are many other foil colours available, including matt colours. Please contact us for details if there is something else you would like, and we’ll see what’s available. Unlike inks and toners that can look faded or change colour on a coloured background, our foils sit on the surface of the card meaning they keep their true colour and stand out providing a gleaming, vivid effect that is sure to capture anyone’s attention.

CORNER OPTIONS: Either leave the corners of your cards square or have us round them for you

ENVELOPE OPTIONS
We are always on the lookout for the best envelopes we can find at competitive rates. It is not always possible to have envelopes that match the card colour so please get in touch if you cannot see the colour you would like. Custom-made envelopes that are not normally kept in stock are available for a surcharge. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

ENVELOPE COLOUR
If you would like plain envelopes, simply click on the colour you would like. We’ve searched for a long time to find the best quality envelopes at affordable prices and are really happy with what we now stock. If you do need a different colour, let us know and we’ll see what we can find.

If you would like envelopes with a matching foil imprint, these will need to be ordered separately. Please contact us for details.
Standard colours available are Kraft Brown, Standard V-flap White, *Premium Peel & Seal White, Dove Grey, Navy, Warm Pink, Blush Pink, Dusky Pink, Sage Green, Forest Green, Silver Pearlescent, Gold Pearlescent.
*Premium White Peel & Seal Envelopes cannot come with envelope liners as they are a different shape. If you would like white envelopes with envelope liners, please select the Standard V-flap White.

As with card stock, manufacturers do occasionally change availability without prior notice or sadly go into administration. Card and paper supplies can therefore change without warning or be unavailable. Colour shades can also vary from batch to batch. We will let you know if something suddenly becomes unavailable.

ADDRESSED INVITATION ENVELOPES: To save you the time of addressing each envelope by hand, select this option and have us do the hard work for you. All we need is a spreadsheet or table with all the guest names and addresses. Each line on your spreadsheet represents one envelope. Each column on your spreadsheet represents one line on the envelope. Please ask us for instructions if unsure.

MATCHING ENVELOPE LINERS: Envelope liners can be customised to match your design. Or pick any other design from our website to compliment your invitation design. Please note that they do not come with foiling.

MATCHING STICKERS: We can create matching stickers to add that little extra something to the invitation envelopes. Or have a complimentary design instead. Browse our sticker listings for ideas. Stickers do not come with foiling.

This is where you can write any notes about your order. If you prefer you can email it to us afterwards at your convenience. Any attachments or images will need to be emailed to us separately.

QUANTITY
In order to keep costs down we have a minimum order quantity of 30 for each variation (each block or die is unique)! Should you ever need reprints, please contact us for a separate quote.

A5 is the largest and twice the size of A6
5x7” is our medium size
A6 is the smallest and is half of an A5
C5 envelope fits an A5 card
5x7” envelope fits a 5x7” card
C6 envelope fits an A6 card

‘Create’ your invite pack yourself by selecting all the elements you require from the various listings. Click on the information button for details of each option or check the Product Information tab where everything is explained in great detail. Either include the information for your cards with the order or email it to us afterwards at your convenience. If you’re unsure about anything, please just email or phone us and we’ll be happy to help.

PROOFS
Once we receive your order a member of our design team will create electronic proofs using the information you have supplied usually within 2 - 3 working days although this can take slightly longer during busy periods. The proofs will be emailed to you. We do not limit the number of changes you can make to your proofs within reason. Once you are happy with them, let us know and we will send them to print. Once you have approved the proof, it cannot be changed so it is important you check it very carefully and that you are completely happy with the design. Please note that these are hand pressed so the design may not always be in the same precise position on every item as subtle movement can occur during pressing.

Nothing goes to print without your approval. If after placing an order you haven’t heard from us within 3 working days, please get in touch.

TURNAROUND
These take longer to produce as there are several processes to go through. First, we create the design. We then have a metal block made. Once the block/die arrives we can start the printing process. The invitations are printed by hand, one at a time. Please allow a total of 3 weeks for them to be ready to dispatch. If you need them sooner, there is an option to add Priority Processing to the order during checkout. The order will then be processed as quickly as possible and be prioritised at each stage.

Please be aware that foil writing is always harder to read due to its beautiful shine. We are happy to put any information you like on the cards but do not take responsibility for them being hard to read. The more text that is added, the smaller the text, particularly on mini cards. We recommend viewing proofs at actual size.

Please note that once we send foiling orders to print, the order cannot be changed! By sending them to print you confirm that all the details are correct on the proofs. Proofs are final and you are responsible for checking each and every detail.

After you have approved your proof, we aim to dispatch your order within 4 - 15 working days, depending on your product type (please see individual product details for dispatch times). Samples are usually dispatched within 1 - 3 working days. Shipping times may vary due to bank holidays or during busy periods.

Royal Mail 2nd Class postage and a standard courier takes between 3-5 working days.  
Royal Mail 1st Class postage takes 2 – 3 working days.
*Next Day Delivery takes 1 or 2 working days (weekends & holidays excluded).

FAST TRACK ORDERS
*If you choose to add Priority Processing to your order, it will jump to the front of the queue and take priority. We will make sure that your order is processed as quickly as possible from proofs through to printing and dispatch. We will aim to prepare your proofs within 1 or 2 days and will also endeavour to dispatch your order within 1 – 2 full working days from approving your proofs.
