Stunning hand-made luxury save the date cards individually pressed with real hot foil. The ultimate in luxurious wedding stationery. Each card is individually pressed by hand using a traditional foil blocking technique to produce the most beautiful, sophisticated touch of luxury to your cards. With various colours and card thicknesses available, we can create beautiful bespoke stationery that will instantly Wow your guests.

We use foil blocking / hot foil pressing to press the stunning foil detail onto your cards. Not to be confused with the more affordable digital foiling, this traditional foiling is all done by hand to create a unique finish. It requires specialist printing equipment and a lot of time and patience as they are printed one at a time.

Like with letterpress, a custom metal block or die is created and used to imprint text and/or design onto paper or card. Instead of using ink, a thin foil film is positioned between the die and the card. When pressed and heated, a bond is formed, and the foil is pressed onto the card. This provides a beautiful, slightly de-bossed, shiny metallic imprint. Because foil is opaque, it can be printed on dark papers with no show through. The contrasting card texture, imprint, and shiny or matt foiling bring your stationery to life.

WHAT DESIGN & TEXT CAN I HAVE?
Opt for pure foil with all text/detailing pressed onto the card with foil or choose to have the best of both with hand-pressed foil and digital print to give more flexibility. Although we only have a few design ideas listed, you can choose any design from our website or elsewhere. We are happy to work with you to create your own. 

MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY
Initial setup costs for traditional block foiling are high as magnesium dies need to be manufactured and the machine has to be calibrated to each individual design. In order to keep costs down we have a minimum order quantity of 30 for each variation (e.g., Day, Evening)! The higher the quantity, the lower the price per card as initial costs are spread out more!

VARIATIONS EXPLAINED
AVAILABLE OPTIONS
FOIL PRESS & STANDARD PRINT
You can choose to have a combination of foil pressing and colour/black print. If you’d like one of our floral designs for instance, we can print the colour design and then foil press your text onto the card with luxurious metallic foil. 
Each die/block is custom made and therefore unique to your order. You tell us what title/text you’d like to have pressed in foil, and we’ll create it. You can even include your own monogram or logo if you like. The rest of the design is digitally printed and is fully customisable. Card colours are limited to light colours as our digital print will not show up on a dark background.

FOIL PRESS ONLY
The metal die/block is the full size of the card you order. The entire card is pressed from that one block. It is custom made and therefore unique to your order. You tell us what you’d like to have on the save the date, and we’ll create it. You can even include your own monogram or logo if you like. There is almost no limit on card colour so if you can’t see what you’re after, please just ask. We have only listed the most popular here.

FOIL COLOUR
We stock Gold, Rose Gold, Copper, Hot Pink and Silver foiling as standard but there are many other foil colours available, including matt colours. Please contact us for details if there is something else you would like, and we’ll see what’s available. There may be a small surcharge for some foil types. 

CARD COLOUR
As well as our smooth white and ivory 330gm card, we will also stock a range of beautiful Premium 350gsm GF Smith Colorplan card. We’ve listed our most popular colours here but please get in touch if you would like a colour not listed as there are lots of other colours, thicknesses, and card types available (surcharge may apply depending on quantity and card type/thickness).

Manufacturers occasionally change availability without prior notice perhaps because a colour is discontinued, or a mill sadly goes into administration. Card and paper supplies can therefore change without warning or be unavailable. Colour shades can also vary from batch to batch. We will let you know if something suddenly becomes unavailable.

CARD SIZE
Choose the size you’d like your save the date to be. Please refer to the sizing tab for measurements.

CARD THICKNESS
We use 350gsm as standard but for full foil cards you can also opt to have double-thickness 700gsm cards for that extra wow factor. These are only available with full foil pressing because they do not fit through our printers. All cards will be hand pressed.

CORNER OPTIONS
Either leave the corners of your cards square or have us round them for you.

MAGNETIC STRIP
Magnets are flat, square, peel & stick and really easy to apply. Ensure your Save the Date can have pride of place on a fridge where it can’t be forgotten. Supplied on a sheet ready for you to stick onto cards before sending them out to your guests.

ARE THESE FOR DAY OR EVENING?
Each variation must be added to your basket separately as there is one die block made per variation (e.g., Day, Eve, Other etc) and separate proofs are also drawn up for each variation. 

ENVELOPE OPTIONS
We are always on the lookout for the best envelopes we can find at competitive rates. It is not always possible to have envelopes that match the card colour so please get in touch if you cannot see the colour you would like. Custom-made envelopes that are not normally kept in stock are available for a surcharge. Please contact us for availability and pricing.

ENVELOPE COLOUR
We’ve listed our most popular colours here. Simply click on the colour you would like. We’ve searched for a long time to find the best quality envelopes at affordable prices and are really happy with what we now stock. 

If you would like envelopes with a matching foil imprint, these will need to be ordered separately. Please contact us for details.
Standard colours available are Kraft Brown, Standard V-flap White, *Premium White Peel & Seal, Dove Grey, Navy, Warm Pink, Blush Pink, Dusky Pink, Sage Green, Forest Green, Orange, Silver Pearlescent, Gold Pearlescent, Black, and Claret.

*Premium White Peel & Seal Envelopes cannot come with envelope liners as they are a different shape. If you would like white envelopes with envelope liners, please select the Standard V-flap White.

ADDRESSED ENVELOPES
To save you the time of addressing each envelope by hand, you can select this option and have us do the hard work for you (excludes white peel & seal envelopes). All we need is a spreadsheet or table with all the guest names and addresses. Each line on your spreadsheet represents one envelope. Each column on your spreadsheet represents one line on the envelope. Please ask us for instructions and a spreadsheet template if unsure.

MATCHING ENVELOPE LINERS: Envelope liners can be customised to match your design. Or pick any other design from our website to compliment your save the date design. Please note that they do not come with foiling.

MATCHING STICKERS: We can create matching stickers to add that little extra something to the save the date envelopes. Stickers do not come with foiling.

YOUR WORDING
This is where you can write any notes about your order. If you prefer you can email it to us afterwards at your convenience. Any attachments or images will need to be emailed to us separately.

QUANTITY
In order to keep costs down we have a minimum order quantity of 30 for each variation (each block or die is unique)! Should you ever need reprints, please contact us for a separate quote.

A6 is the standard size
5x7” is our medium size
C6 envelope fits an A6 card
5x7” envelope fits a 5x7” card

Either include the information for your cards with the order or email it to us afterwards at your convenience. If you wish to send us a spreadsheet or other attachment, you will need to email it to us separately. If you’re unsure about anything, please just email or phone us and we’ll be happy to help.

PROOFS
Once we receive your order a member of our design team will create electronic proofs using the information you have supplied usually within 2 - 3 working days. The proofs will be emailed to you. We do not limit the number of changes you can make to your proofs within reason. Once you are happy with them, let us know and we will send them to print. Once you have approved the proof, it cannot be changed so it is important you check it very carefully and that you are completely happy with the design. Proofs are final so please check all annotations on your proofs regarding size and colours etc. Please note that these are hand pressed so the design may not always be in the same precise position on every item as subtle movement can occur during pressing.

Nothing goes to print without your approval. If after placing an order you haven’t heard from us within 3 working days, please get in touch. 

TURNAROUND
These can take slightly longer to produce as there are several processes to go through. First, we create the design. Once you have approved your proof(s), we have a metal block made. Once the block/die arrives we can start the printing process. The cards are printed by hand, one at a time. Please allow a week to 10 days for them to be ready to dispatch. If you need them sooner, there is an option to add Priority Processing to the order during checkout. The order will then be processed as quickly as possible and be prioritised at each stage.

Please be aware that foil writing is always harder to read due to its beautiful shine. We are happy to put any information you like on the cards but do not take responsibility for them being hard to read. The more text that is added, the smaller the text, particularly on mini cards. We recommend viewing proofs at actual size. QR codes can be foil pressed, but the shine and debossing effect means they can be a little harder to scan at times. Try different lighting and tilt the card slightly until the camera is able to capture the details.

Please note that once we send foiling orders to print, the order cannot be changed! By sending them to print you confirm that all the details are correct on the proofs. Proofs are final and you are responsible for checking each and every detail from spelling and grammar through to colour and size.

DISPATCH
We always do our best to dispatch orders as quickly as possible but once they are in the post, the delivery time is out of our hands. Please be sure to select a faster shipping option if you do not wish to rely on Royal Mail delivering within their quoted timeframes as they can take anything from 1 day to 3 weeks.

After you have approved your proof, we aim to dispatch your order within 4 - 15 working days, depending on your product type (please see individual product details for dispatch times). Samples are usually dispatched within 1 - 3 working days. Shipping times may vary due to bank holidays or during busy periods.

Royal Mail 2nd Class postage and a standard courier takes between 3-5 working days.  
Royal Mail 1st Class postage takes 2 – 3 working days.
*Next Day Delivery takes 1 or 2 working days (weekends & holidays excluded). 

*Next Day Options are only available for UK mainland. Please contact us separately for shipping to Northern Ireland or any of the other islands or highlands.

FAST TRACK ORDERS
*If you choose to add Priority Processing to your order, it will jump to the front of the queue and take priority. We will make sure that your order is processed as quickly as possible from proofs through to printing and dispatch. We will aim to prepare your proofs within 1 or 2 days and will also endeavour to dispatch your order within 1 – 2 full working days from approving your proofs.
